Spiritually Building

In life I, like most people, center my life around my very top priorities.  Granted, these priorities tend to change and move around.  For me, life is happiest and most successful when my top priority is God, who I believe to be my Creator and the Creator of all things.  Why is that?  Why is life sweeter when my center focus is God?
I believe when God is at the top of my list I put my commitments to Him before all others.  It means I give him the most effective time I have to develop into who He wants me to be and serve who He wants me to serve.
Now having said that, I realize I am not perfect at keeping Him as my top priority.  That's when other less important things take my focus and distract me from whats most important.
I believe building a solid foundation in God will help me keep Him as my top priority.  This is my plan to further build this foundation:
  1. When making key decisions asking myself "Does this hold true to my commitments to God?"
  2. Pray & study His words in scripture and through modern day prophets every morning.
  3. Take time to listen to others where ever I meet them.
  4. Listen for promptings and opportunities to serve others.
  5. Take time to reflect on the day's experiences, things I've learned and felt.
  6. Express gratitude to God and to others for what I receive each day.
The list is in beta form, so I hope to alter this plan as I recognize more things that will help me remember God and keep him in all that I do.

Make your own plan.  See how, over time, God will change your life.

Work That Body

This last year I rededicated myself to becoming more physically fit (Sound familiar?).
I wanted to feel healthy, young, and agile.  I played various sports throughout the week and maybe would hit the gym for a few months then die off.
"I wanted to make it a part of my lifestyle. "
SO I set a time, created a routine I would work on everyday.  I looked at what I wanted to improve and went after it.  What helped is asking others on what helps build what.  Very focused on gaining muscle mass.  To my amazement, I broke past a couple plateaus and gained about 12 pounds of HULK like muscle.  My body had some type of steroid hidden inside.....kidding.

Recently, I debated whether I should bulk up further or become more lean and ripped.  I thought about what is most important to me.

What were my initial goals for working out?

Of course I wanted to continue woking out, but what methods would work best?

My two options:

  1. Continue body building, lifting heavier, and widening my lift variations.
  2. Crossfit.  Heavy cardio based lifting with whole body workouts that incorporate Olympic style lifting.
Two very different paths.  I decided to try Crossfit out and see how my body responds.  I'm pretty excited.  What do you think?
